Our song “Jujur & Setia” means “Honest & Faithful” was written by Robi (vocalist of Navicula) for his dog, and was released in 2005 on our 4th album “Alkemis”. We are posting this song today in response to the recent inhumane killings of Bali street dogs by the Indonesian Government. They claim these recent killings are due to another outbreak of rabies, however the timing suggests they are simply cleaning up the streets for APEC2013.
Navicula have become heroes in Indonesia’s rock underground for their raw, neo-grunge songs protesting government corruption and the degradation of the environment. At Twice Bar, a cramped, sweaty punk rock club in the Kuta resort area of Bali, they play on the floor with their fans pressing in close around them to sing along. Given the location, their song “Orangutang” and its message about the fragility of nature couldn’t be more urgent.

Following the recording sessions in Los Angeles at Record Plant Studios, Navicula started their USA Tour across California. After performing in Berkeley, Davis, and San Francisco last week, Navicula was invited by California event company Numbskull Productions to perform in Ventura, California on Dec 6 and to open for HR of legendary punk band Bad Brains on Dec 7 in Bakersfield, California.
